Consequent boven de 90 punten scorende topper uit Russian River, de streek waar de meest frisse Californische chardonnays vandaan komen. Deze imposante en complexe droge witte wijn wordt door de Amerikaanse schrijvende pers beschouwd als een meursault/puligny-kloon. Wellicht is de Ramey chardonnay iets rijker maar zeer herkenbaar voor bourgogneliefhebbers zijn dezelfde pittige citrus- en eikenhoutaroma's en de volle smaakstructuur met lange afdronk.

Drinken bij

Door zijn kracht en intensiteit zeer geschikt bij (gebakken) vis, maar ook erg lekker bij gevogelte en kalfsvlees.

Houdbaarheid

Vanaf twee à drie jaar op dronk en gemakkelijk houdbaar tot acht jaar na de oogst.
